From Capitol Arena in Washington D.C., Ray Morgan greeted fans as host of the Capitol Wrestling TV program Heavyweight Wrestling. Morgan was also the lead announcer and called the action weekly. He narrated the rise of Bruno Sammartino. He remained in his post until 1971 when a dispute over a pay raise with Vince McMahon Sr. arose. The pay dispute led to Morgan's dismissal and Vince McMahon Jr. replacing him.
